My Soul To Take

From a Collection of Poems

There is a space in my mind

It is not bound by sands of time

When I cannot grasp reality

I slip through a few eternities

I cannot hear gossipy words

I'm humming tunes with the birds

Rake me with skeptical looks

I'm busy living my favorite books

Can't hurt me with your hateful clout

I'm busy dancing with the clouds

Jealous glares don't catch my eye

When a thousand suns set in my sky

Hopeless feelings have no power

While I sunbathe in a flower

Bits of stress scattered in pieces

Let me daydream a hundred seasons.

Broken hearts, you can't catch me

Floating on euphoria sea

Fragments of shattered dreams

Sparkling diamonds in my galaxy

My body may age

but my soul stays still

Years spent gazing

beyond this world.

So if I die before I wake

Leave my soul in this place.

Forever flying without time,

Living endlessly in my mind.
