My Soul Puts a Finger to Your Lips

While We Both Wait

There is a gap

since I have existed.

My soul,

unseen

unheard

caught between a reflection

and the darkness.

I have been missing lost things

and things never given.

But how do I know what I am missing,

was I born to know of love?

Or am I aware from another time

with you?

Have we grown and fallen before?

I dreamt of you

sitting

head down

waiting for me.

Can you hear me now?

Maybe you do,

maybe you have a part of me

that's always been with you

since your existence

and I do of you,

the reason I and you know

that we are missing

but won't always be.

I wish we would have

more time

to tell each other.

Our words

echoing

between the stars

and the moon.
