My soul in fall

by Mekala Rodrigo

By Mekala Rodrigo Published 5 years ago 1 min read

Autumn in full swing

up above in the air

down below beneath my feet,

the shades of yellow shining

the reds out there brightening

a leaf dancing it’s way to the ground

I pick up, it smiles.

On a clear blue sky

I lay, on a bed of crunching leaves

a spectrum of warm hues

their work here is done

mine, just unfolding.

I stare through the falling leaves

burnt umbers of new beginning

million dreams running through my head

with eyes, wide open.

Smile across my face

I lay in silence

while angels whisper in my ear

little secrets to life and unknown things

go on butterfly, spread those wings.
