My Social Media Performance

Authenticity and consistency will reward one day

By Seema PatelPublished 9 months ago 1 min read
@Seema

I write across platforms.

Not all give recognition,

to my words and opinions.

not in verbal appreciation,

nor in monetary remuneration.

There is job hub LinkedIn,

where tech folks prowl,

and every time I write health,

they ignore and unfollow.

Substack gave zero

after months of writing,

and insights sharing.

Medium gave a lot —

until it crashed, and

now it's moribund.

Facebook and Instagram

do nothing for me,

just waste my time.

Twitter and Threads

ignore my words —

no footfall there.

YouTube has 300 videos,

but barely 100 followers.

Maybe because I don’t rig,

the algorithm, or promote.

Then came Amazon KDP —

even there, rare sales.

But Kindle Unlimited

paid, when people read.

Finally, Vocal Media,

despite being a newer platform,

for me, and I am nascent,

it gave me “Top Story” —

twice in two months.

Nothing is easy,

or instantly rewarding,

we need to persist.

Writing our voice, and

raising awareness,

is purposeful ikigai

hoping they will someday,

justify efforts, bring laurels.

Totally agree. Writers need to write as much as possible. I do have accounts on Substack and medium and both of them did make a cent. Glad I found Vocal and cashed several times and earned TS a few times.
