My Portable Homeland

…as I am sensing it right now

It doesn’t need

a flag and a national anthem.

It hasn’t got an army, a parliament,

a president or a prime minister.

Its territory is nowhere and everywhere,

at the same time.

Its roads are vertical.

Its waters follow the upper wind.

Its nature is polluted,

only if I permit it.

It has neither poverty nor wealth.

Everything “just is”.

It is in war,

only when I’m confused.

It is under attack,

only if I let my fear form attackers in front of me.

The language spoken

doesn’t include possessive pronouns.

The word “domination”

is used only to follow the word “self”.

It doesn’t need a written calendar.

It coordinates directly with the galaxy.

Its sights are

the ones I convey.

I don’t need transportation

to come and go.

It’s always with me.

It is the homeland I carry within.
