My Poetic Happiness

From my first breathe,

From my childhood life,

From my first laugh, smile, & touch,

From that early on, I knew exactly MY life.

With loving parents,

Within a loving town,

Without even a doubt,

I knew I’d never cause a frown.

Now I’m midlife,

Now all these moments I hold dear,

Now I know I’m beyond lucky,

Now I still live life without ever experiencing fear!

Women & men both crazy folk,

Women & men, this is no joke,

Women & men, I have loved both,

Women & men, beside both I’ve awoke.

I was proud at age 4, when I loved my friends,

I was proud at age 20, when I loved myself enough to feel all the feels, except any shame,

I was proud as an adult, when each shared awakening shaped myself as a whole,

I am proud right this moment, that I see beauty & comfort, and am proof sexuality is anything but a game.
