My POC

Color for me has always been the problem not that I do not like any colors but that I am the wrong color.

By Brenndon TsoPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Sometimes, I stand in line wrong.

Sometimes, I look at the exit wrong.

Sometimes, I use the bathroom wrong.

Sometimes, I buy things wrong.

Sometimes, I leave buildings wrong.

Sometimes, I enter buildings wrong.

Sometimes, I drive wrong.

Sometimes, I dress wrong.

Sometimes, I visit the wrong neighborhoods, or cities, or states, or countries.

Sometimes, I say the wrong thing.

Sometimes, I look at the wrong person.

Sometimes, I go to the wrong school.

Sometimes, I live in the wrong place.

Sometimes, I get tired of trying to look right.

Sometimes, I never get the job, home, education, opportunity, lifestyle, or anything I want and need.

Sometimes, your racist.

Sometimes, you judge those you do not know.

Sometimes, you contradict your own values.

Sometimes, you’re a white supremacist.

Sometimes, you’re ignorant.

Sometimes, you’re scared.

Sometimes, you have been lied to.

Sometimes, you had bad parents.

Sometimes, you weren’t loved.

Sometimes, the wrong people showed you they cared…but only to hate.

Sometimes, I feel bad for you.

Sometimes, I want to say its ok.

Sometimes, I understand that its more complicated than that but at the end of the day you make judgment not on their character but on their color.

Sometimes, we are the wrong color and that's not okay.
