My people in Heaven

Are you watching?

By Fiza Taj Published 3 years ago 1 min read

My dearest people in Heaven,

How I long to see you again,

To hear your laughter, a joyful symphony,

To be able to hold your hand one more time.

Do you watch over me?,

I would want you to shut you eyes tight,

when I curl myself up in ball,

when I am in pain, when I am at my lowest,

when I find myself drowning in the sea of never-ending grief.

I hope you watch over me,

when I bloom, my petals unfurl,

when I move through the turbulent storms,

when I surf over the waves of grief,

when I don't let myself drown away in sorrow,

when I make your memories my sanctuary.

In the tranquility and stillness of night,

visit me in the realm of my sleep, dreams,

Let us take a walk down memory lane,

In the fields of sunflowers, perfect peace,

coolness of the breeze, rustling of leaves, summer.

Alongside the sea shore, salty air,

crashing of the waves, warmth of sun, winter.

But when I wake up, you're gone,

leaving behind a void, a sinking heart,

The dawn seems empty, colorless,

Gray sky, a boring canvas, tapestry of emotions,

Because you took all the colors with you.

with love, longing and memories,

your sister.
