My Paradox

Poem

By Desmond RazzanoPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Snakes in the grass, you can’t decipher which ones.

There live no scavengers if it’s only a witch hunt.

All types will do, but I like the rich blood.

A tree bears poisoned apples, and it’s my turn to pick some.

For all the broken promises, there’s just no way to fix ‘em.

I survived in my paradox!

Words tear through titanium in nothing but silence.

A clean blow to the cranium leaves the messiest violence.

The moon above my head sits ultimately skyless.

No ends of the Earth, but geographical science.

No need for warrants to kill, since I have the license.

I’m still alive in my paradox!

Love me by instance, take lifetimes to learn me.

You see my mouth move, but you still haven’t heard me.

For this wicked, wicked witch, you may take your time to burn me.

I’ve an icey-gray heart, it’s quite difficult to hurt me.

They act like they’re in pain, yet they wouldn’t know the first thing.

I’ve arrived at my paradox!

I push myself against the mirrors attempting to see the other side.

Past reflections tried to haunt me, as I’ve left them all behind.

Trapped inside a battlefield, a warzone in the mind.

Nature’s really pretty until you’re wrapped up in her vines.

I’d receive much more than answers if I’d recognize the signs.

I’m derived from my paradox!

The more that we change, the more that stays the same.

The things we most enjoy, for most we rot in shame.

You’re too hard on yourself, but tend to shift the blame.

Life gets hard to live, until you wish you never came.

You try to get so high, that you’ll forget your only name.

I’ve a drive from my paradox!

I’ve often dreamt a life in all I want.

New set of skin with elegant wrought.

You shouldn’t point a gun with the safety off.

I’ve sought my paradox!
