My Painful Procrastination
Delays can be very painful
My shadow is still, but it is not sleeping.
Determination is anchored down in the deepest sea
As my mind wanders uncontrollably.
Intrusive thoughts emerge abruptly from the unknown.
The strength of dark emotions pins me down.
Sadness, rage, and despair pile up deep inside me.
Why can’t I move forward?
Where is my perseverance?
I feel absolutely nothing
Yet this hurts me so much.
My ambitions are within reach
But they feel like many galaxies away.
Why am I not persisting?
My tenacity is lost.
Wanting to be the flower that grows through hard ground.
Feel like a stone sinking into the lost sea.
Delays can be very painful.
Motivation is the only savior.

If I were asked to remark on my life and the childhood that paved some road leading me to this point, I would have to say something about all the funny people who surrounded me for the last 26,872 days (and counting). Somewhere along that road, I became a big fan of laughter and the comedy that spawns it – and, I mean not only my own laughter, but the laughter of others, some of which I have actually been responsible for inducing.
