My Northern Star

No force can move me

from the place I stand

here by your side

though it didn’t always

go as we planned

still fought together-

arm in arm

together we have bested

some fantastic beasts

together we have

delighted in rich company,

honest laughter and

genuine care

where ever I am

with you will always

be home

nothing more than

your presence

can better our home

you are warmth, light,

my northern star

guiding me

as I navigate this

treacherous life

you have lived

for us both

when I was unable-

existing

you have ran

the household,

paid the bills

and kept us afloat-

when I was floundering

you carried me

through phases of my life-

without you,

I wouldn’t be here-

wouldn’t be me
