My Moon- Road:

Narrative Poem

By Saroyan ColesPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

He’s my moon-road;

Shared smiles silently spoke

(Come as you are)

all our inside jokes-

We drove out, moonwards

wolfs walking beside me,

salivating—

I turn around,

ALL

I see is tracks,

as I stare blankly

at the full moon

above the ridge-

the bluest, blue moon,

half-smiled down

on us

Leaving behind

more than just trail of dust

MEMORIES

covered in sage brush—

We’re conversating

amongst the moonlight;

He plucked up the courage

to express feelings-

His eyes dilate like

a road-like reflection-

Certain I am his alpha!

The elated wolf

was over the moon,

with feathers he’s earned-

Ability to

jump past canyons-

Moonrise in his touch,

“ plucks”

on my heart strings

like a harp...

Endless ridges,

he claws himself out

of dangerous situations!

Moonstruck;

I don’t have to do much

to impress him,

he’s already impressed

with who I am!

As if we two were

plucked out of thin air!

OUR

energies,electric, embrace-

The universe keeps

weaving this twosomes’

paths to cross;

like corn husk,

and stardust—

Years may come and go,

the littlest things is held

closest to our hearts

Others

throwing her out to the wolves

to keep theirs at the door;

Little did they know,

they come to her aide

as she beckons—

Soulmates end, as soul ties

like moon dust...

Shared smiles silently spoke

(Come as you are)

He’s my moon-road,

allowing my free-spirited

wild-child side wander

FREELY

He’s my meant to be...

No longer,

giving my heart

to boys who cry wolf!
