My Mind Is A Bully

A free-verse poem about how my mind sometimes makes me feel like “garbage”

Like a little child

it won't stop blabbering.

It wears me out

like ripped shirts and jeans.

It's the inner villain

who loves to torture me.

Instead of punching and hitting me

it injures me with bad flashbacks.

Like a criminal

it steals my peace.

It restrains me with

sorrow, anger, fear and frustration.

It's the ugly foe

with the heart of a demon.

All it does is wants to

annihilate my happiness and joy.

My mind is a bully

who'll never quit

following me and

ostracizing me.
