When my lover snores

it does not keep me awake

it calms my heart

and lulls me to sleep

knowing they're resting deep

next to me

safe together

throughout the night

the other night

I dreamt that the

next-door neighbor

was mowing his lawn

in the middle

of the night

with a mower of such

loud intensity

that I awoke

in both my dream

and my reality

gazing at the clock

as I awoke

thinking to myself

why is he mowing his lawn

at 4 in the morning?

only to discover it

was

My Lover's Snore

and not

a lawnmower

Yet still, it calms

my heart

even if

My Lover's Snore

occasionally

wakes me...
