My love-have you felt desolate?
A despair that’s kin to death?
Have you choked on soft “I’m sorry’s,”
As you deprive your lungs of breath?
*
My love- don’t walk this path with me.
Don’t find the gaps you feel.
To probe further in the darkness
Makes theses wounds too wide to heal.
*
I’m carving canyons with my grief,
Digging oceans worth of hate-
Hate for myself, hate for my failures,
That no penance satiates.
*
My love- I see your weakness,
As pristine as though my own.
But I beg you, keep your ignorance,
And we both won’t feel alone.
