The size of a hand,

I found him in the sand;

Looking at his white face,

Besides him I stand.

I took him home,

But he was not alone;

There was his little sister

Almost like her mother, I would say a clone.

They lived with me,

Played with me.

They taught me to live like free

We used to have meetings over tea.

Then one day from my work, I came.

There was a silence, unusual and strange,

There was no usual greeting exchange.

I marched forward and there he lied breathless and lame.

I was awestruck and dumbfounded.

He was so genuine and grounded.

I took his little sister to the room

I was heavy but could understand her gloom.

Next few days were tough,

There mother was sad and behaved rough.

It was the end of our story

He was now history.

I still feel him in my house

He would run and play and chase every mouse

And sleep with me

cozy and relaxed in the same old couch

Same old couch.

About the Creator

Moonchild Writes

"I am a Moonchild – born under silence, raised by chaos.

I speak in pauses, feel in storms, and write in phases.

My words are not loud, but they echo.

Not here to be read—here to be felt."
