We were once hot and heavy

Steamy,

Lustful,

All over each other,

Bodies entwined

At every opportunity.

*

The newness is gone.

Now, there is nothing but an aloof,

Uninvolved,

Amicable

Friendship.

The new normal

Has no appeal for me.

My heart isn’t in it.

*

We may yet rekindle

What once was …

If only you’ll meet me half way.

Tell me I’m desirable

And I’ll do the same.

Tell me you want me

And I’ll want you.

Touch me

And I’ll touch you.

Pleasure me

And I’ll gladly reciprocate.

*

Until then,

My heart isn’t in it.

Note: This is NOT about my current relationship! Love you, Teddy Bear!
