My Heart and My Brain

My heart says something else,

My mind, completely opposite.

What to do, what not to,

Not an easy assignment.

My heart beats with passion, fierce and strong,

But my mind calculates right, where I belong.

The more I listen, the louder they fight,

One pulls me toward warmth, the other toward light.

It’s like a world war, harsh and cruel—

One side is passion, the other, the rule.

Stuck in this battle, no way to connect,

Torn between feelings I can’t neglect.
