My Glass Shall not Persuade Me I Am Old

The Works of Age and Time

โ€œMy Glass shall not persuade me I am oldโ€

Standing right before the glass

An image of a fresh young lady

The one my eyes see

The glass adores me with wrinkles

My hands stretch them away

Bringing forth the smooth young face

My glass shall not persuade me I am old

For thou remain ever young

Dresses of the young days still dress of today

The attractive smile on my rosy lips

Still calling the young, a kiss to seek

Kisses of my lips still comforting as the past,

He will always say to me

Young I see, old my glass shall tell.
