My Future

A poem of reflection and recovery

I was almost there

Almost to the bright yellow future

But there was a faint echo

An echo of who I used to be

An echo of the depressed girl

Who didn't want to live anymore

But I wouldn't let that stop me

I would continue to climb up

And up

And up

To reach my goals and dreams

To become who I'm meant to be
