My Favorite Summer Place

The thought of summer, not too far away

Delights me, though I hate to be contrite.

For, in the summer, while I like the day

The real excitement is the summer night.

For music lovers, there is only one

Performance place that reaches to our soul.

Of every venue underneath the sun

The best of all is our Hollywood Bowl.

There’s classical and pop and movie scores

With 18,000 people sitting there.

Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, once, The Doors,

Or Philharmonic symphony fanfare.

So call it ‘bucket list’ or just a goal,

But come and spend an evening at the Bowl.
