He told me

he was just himself

and that scared everybody away

:

Because they were expecting pretense

Something they could not see

:

A living human unmasked

was a rare sight indeed

:

It resonated deep

I never felt like I related

to someone so much like this

:

He used to reject that I was his kid

But there's no denying it

:

We are the same frequency

in different bodies

on different timelines

I just had the guts

to fly higher

:

He, just like me

had to leave his family

To create happiness and peace

:

They called us crazy

because we saw everything

and we wouldn't sit and suffer in distaste

:

We wouldn't fight the gladiator games

We chose peace, and walked away

:

They say birds of a feather flock together

but black sheep are a flock of their own

surreal poetry
