My eyes opened

a poem by Jimmy Twin

By Jimmy TwinPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

My eyes opened.

I did not remember who I am.

I did not remember who I was.

I did not know what to do.

My eyes open.

I did not know it was a dream.

I did not know I could wake.

I did not have a clue.

My eyes.

Looked around to find a bearing.

Looked around what seemed to be a market.

Looked around at shocked faces.

Eyes.

All looking at me.

All questioning my presence.

All but one averting gazes.

My eyes.

Moved towards the unfamiliar face.

Moved by the gentle smile.

Moved by the beckoning motion.

My eyes open.

In shock by the deep voice that sounded.

In shock by the words I heard.

In shock by the sudden change of emotion.

“This is not your life to intrude!”

My eyes opened.
