My Demons
You came for me but I was able to eat you up (this time)

My dearest deepest darkest demons,
I hope this missive finds yours hoofs all cloven and your health all well. I know what an arduous task it can be somedays, here you are in my head and my gut when you're supposed to be in hell. Your brimstone smell permeates my worlds and reminds me of my Dad. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about that now though, I'm not happy but I'm not sad. I know some days I attribute to you all my worldly woe, this is simply the process because you are the only ones who know. As you thrash about collecting souls, you know exactly what I'm on about, a reversal of roles. You have held my hand and you've held my throat, you helped me laugh you helped me gloat. You've lifted me up and you've let me down, you taught me to fly you let me drown. You have shown me sights no mortals should see, you have kept me close but let me be free. Our symbiotic relationship now gives me pause to scratch my head, how can i be sure this is not some form of afterlife and how do I know that I'm not dead?
And now the rest of the day to you
Knowingly yours

Held my hand /held my throat Fabulous entry! Venom meets mr Roger’s. Great piece. Working on a demon story too
Great piece! Such a reckoning and reconciliation. Flowed flawlessly!
