She sold herself, and left me with the years,

Two decades of the mute and faithful past,

A witness to first journeys, foolish fears.

The early days, the loves that sped her frame,

Each mile a scar upon the metal's cheek,

And now, a hollow echo knows her name.

Oh, for one breath of that first gasoline scent,

Before her final shadow fled the sun,

A memory redeemed, a moment spent.
