My body is a temple
A canvas of shea butter
Perfectly assembled
by Divine creation
and ancestral mothers
My body is my ego
Intellectually and spiritually sound
And for that reason
My body is also my hero
It reminds me that I'm still here
And that my purpose is undefined
Because my body is also my peer
She holds me down on all fronts
Reminding me that my body
Is not for witch hunts
To be mastered by men
who place archaic time clocks
As if my body were a toy locked in a playpen
My body is my body, is my body.
It's more than my womb
That houses my offspring
It's more than a notion
And a hell of an offering
Of liberation and integrity
And for that reason
My body is and will always hold the choice
For posterity.
Peace and Love.
