Melodious Sanctuary
💐For My Mum💐
She is solid sunshine. A flower always in bloom, never losing her petals.
Every moment with her is origami - something as simple as a plain piece of paper turning into something intricately fascinating.
Her conversations harbour the escapism of a fantasy novel and the comfort of a campfire.
If she is the flame, happiness is the moth; drawn to her.
She is the melodious sanctuary of a willy wagtail’s singing. The warmth of watching snowflakes fall in layers on the other side of foggy glass.
She is my Northern Lights. A one of a kind, naturally occurring light show. If I am a falling star, she is the sea that breaks my fall.

So. You made it difficult. I've said that a lot to a lot of people. But it's still true. Your entries were all fantastic in different ways. But, if it's okay. Could I use this one please? I know it's a lighter-than-usual Poppy piece, but that's probably why it stands out. Plus, how could I deny your mother getting such an imaginative and lively tribute in a book? Thank you again for sharing and being a part of it. Youve been a longtime friend and supporter and encourager, and though we've hardly spoken recently. Still cherish your friendship. Damn. This is an absolute masterpiece. Tribute done perfectly, with genuine authenticity and heart. Your mum sounds like a dynamite rocket and a warm cup of cocoa.
