My Ancestry Family Tree
As I sit here looking into my family tree,
I look at relatives unknown related to me.
Some piss poor, some died in vain,
My dad's family all coal miners, their stories in pain.
On my dad’s side, a Churchill connection to us,
And Richard the 3rd, who caused quite a fuss.
Links to Ireland too, where history flows,
So much more just to pursue, as curiosity grows.
On my mam's side, oh, Rick Ashley, what a find!
Her cousin sings sweetly, with an extraordinary mind.
A famous horse jockey adds flair to her bow,
The stories of my family shine brightly, you know.
I love what I’m finding; each link brings delight,
These connections I cherish, they feel just so right.
Every name tells a tale, rich with laughter and tears,
In this journey of family, I’ll treasure for years.
So each move I make, I will chart it all nice,
Who knows what comes next, a sweet, lovely surprise.
Right now in my life, I'm happy to be,
Sat here at my desk, charting family long dead in my tree.
