Musings For a Muse

The thoughts that swirl in my mind, are of you

By Chris SantiagoPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

I want to watch you at your strongest and when you're the best you can be.

I want to be a safety for you, catch you when you fall, hold you when you feel weak.

==================================================

You are the sunrise and the sunset to me.

For me an end and yet my new beginning.

==================================================

You showed up and showed a love,

That no one to this point could.

==================================================

You wrote a song without words that drove the despair away.

When everything before, and all their notes were laced with sorrow and hate.

Whatever parts of my heart that weren't already, I gave to you that day.

Authors note:

some insight into how I write my poems. I don't feel particularly great at it but I constantly have thoughts that run through my head at any given day and they manifest as usually a line or two. And I think to myself hey that's not bad and from there I play around with it and expand upon the thought that evoked the original line. For a very long time I would try to remember what the line was but would have lost it in the course of a day. So I've made a more concerted effort to jot them down as soon as I recieve them. Above are a few examples of such lines that I've recieved in the last 2 days.

About the Creator

Chris Santiago

I've always found a bit peace and release in putting word to written medium. I'm by no means an accomplished wordsmith but I find enjoyment in it. My love for writing started from world building that being a dungeon master provided.
