Mundane Fairytale

Happily Ever After Is A State Of Being, Not A Destination.

I've done a lot of amazing things

Out of all my achievements

the greatest thing I ever did

was love myself

*

Once you've dug a well for yourself

you don't need anyone else

& no matter how much you give

the source is always yours to hold

*

Society teaches us

Work

Eat

Drink

Sleep

Buy things

to impress people

who otherwise don't like you

Exceed your last achievement

to feel a fleeting ounce of worth

Trade your freedom for 'love'

Marry your 'other half'

Then you won't feel so alone

*

Disney teaches us

Be a princess

Believe in magic

Abandon your home

Live in lavish castles

inside echoing walls

Trade your fins for feet

Sign over your soul

to walk among us

Trade your voice for 'love'

Marry a prince

Then you live happily ever after

*

The trials of life taught me

Be a badass

Be the magic

Bring home wherever you go

Venture to places unknown

If no trail leads to your destination

draw a map all your own

Live freely

Live unapologetically

even if it others don't agree

Love fearlessly

Let love fill your being

Sing songs of praise everyday

Look for beauty beyond the mirror

Appreciate every little thing

even the mistakes

Be whole in who you are

Then you'll live happily ever after every day

love poems
