Mummy, If Only You Didn't Swear And Shout At Me.
A Child's Plea.
Mummy, I know that you love me,
Some days I can be your little angel,
Some days I can be very naughty,
I don't always mean to do the things I do,
But, Mummy, growing up is hard you see.
I know deep down you care about me,
And I know I can make you angry,
And yes;
I can get on your nerves,
But Mummy,
If only you didn't swear and shout at me.
I don't understand your harsh language,
though I do have feelings,
And you sometimes make me feel very scared;
When I am scared,
I over-react,
I get mad,
And I throw my toys because I don't understand you.
Mummy, I love you,
And I don't always mean to do the things I do,
Growing up is hard you see,
It can be painful seeing things I'm not ready for,
And I get growing pains,
And change is scary for me.
I'm too young to understand how to behave like a grownup,
I wish I could be just like you,
But Mummy;
I haven't yet learned to control my temper,
Or my emotions,
Though I will learn,
If only you wouldn't swear and shout at me.
