Big bang or finger snap, there is one thing I see as fact.
For anything to take place, that room first had to be black.
Dark as you might call it, but perfect for the white light to dawn in.
Showing its true colors, painting black as the criminal background that hovers.
“The White Light’s [Man’s] Burden” as they would proudly call it, to keep the dark at bay or else the uneducated Blacks may rule the day.
I almost laugh in disbelief because this is the table that you set, binding my arms and legs to the chair while you feed my dinner to the pet.
A strong analogy it might seem but believe me, there are innumerable dimensions of black in between.
Every single one with endless potential, but too busy fighting for our lives because somehow the light made that essential.
Now I’m not knocking life, don’t get me wrong, we just chose to make this shit chess when it could’ve been ping pong.
Think about it for a second and you’ll see what I’m on.
Instead of scratching everyone’s back, we’re literally all pawns.
Now the only difference between us and the king, is that he does not understand the position he is in.
Privilege can be ignorant and most white people just get it as inheritance.
And the only thing separating us from the queen is that it takes more moves, but to close the gap is within my means.
It may take a few generations but one day we’ll make up for those lost reparations.
Imagine if we got our 40 acres, I might’ve been chilling on the beach right now listening to Bob Marley and the Wailers.
See the dimensions that had enslaved me, has provided the resilience to save me.
Today I take pride in my color, been dark as chocolate since all I could do was holler.
I’ve emerged from the background, broken your chains, found my nourishment, now I’m changing the game.
So what I’m from Jamaica, I’m tired of seeing people like me suffer, that kinda shit really just helps your identity buffer.
I’m a black hole of inspiration, filled with planets, filled with stars, I can’t help but imagine where we would be if we didn’t spend so much on wars.
I digress, and because truly it makes me a little stressed.
But I’m Multidimensional Black and in the face of adversity, that means I try my best.
