During the 9 AM Jazzercise class, Mrs. Winthrop's pendant disappeared.

She'd left it on her bureau; her door was not secured.

Though Happy Hollows management cannot be held to blame,

It pains us still to see her shocked, alone, what a shame.

If the guilty party returns the pendant, no questions will be asked:

Except Why?

Why, why steal from a little old lady?

Why, why take something so dear?

Why, why, it has so little value?

Why, why would you not care?

The pendant was her granddaughter's gift three years ago,

Wrapped in Christmas paper, sealed with kisses.

Her family lives across the state line, far away,

The pendant helps her bear that which she misses.

If the guilty party returns the pendant, no questions will be asked:

Except What?

What, what were you thinking?

What, what will you do with it now?

What, what could your reason be?

What, what drove you to this deed so foul?

Mrs. Winthrop offers her butterscotch pudding

As a reward for doing what is right.

It's a small token, all she has to give,

Please return the pendant before morning light.

If the guilty party returns the pendant, no questions will be asked:

Except When?

When, when will you return the pendant?

When, when will you see the light?

When, when will you do what's right?

When, when will you restore what's lost?
