Dear Childhood Bedroom,
I am writing this short letter to you,
The bedroom which I used to occupy,
For 20 years, safe within you, I grew,
Starting with my very first shrieking cry.
A boisterous baby came into your walls,
Eager to play fun games and fight,
You saw her ambitious leaps and her falls,
And her giggles of delight.
I was not that girl anymore,
When teenhood stole my smile,
My emotions drafted into war,
To heal, that took a while.
You must have seen many things as I grew,
And you never spoke a knowing word,
Quietly seeing me through,
Unheard.
Now, here I stand,
Ready to leave my second womb,
My life must expand,
Thank you, Childhood Bedroom
Sincerely, a grateful child.

This was a really powerful piece, TWW! It was relatable and evoked emotions that I find hard to label. So beautifully written and well said!
