One night among mountains and mist

It seemed that we were all alone

As if, the last train we’d just missed

Now it was us and sky and stone

x

The mist was all that did exist

At least, that night this was its throne

Ephemeral, the world it kissed

As it erased all that we’d known

x

And silence reigned, a toneless tone

Now unconstrained, we saw anew

And since that night, how much we’ve grown

How far away from home we flew

x

The star to which I’ve remained true

The legend of the stormweaver

I read my signs and take my cue

Indeed, I am a believer

x

In love and life, in me and you

In dreams and gold and spirit guides

In trusting in the cards you drew

In not fighting against the tides

x

I do believe that fear divides

And shame’s the same, it makes you hide

So you deceive all else besides

Yourself for who can fool their pride

x

Once out for truth your soul has cried

You cannot then ignore the call

Though in your youth you may have tried

No longer will it hold, your wall

x

So lord of light and lord of all

Please help me to see through my gall

Show me the way towards the light

Help me to read the words you write

nature poetry
