I don’t care about being a shiny star at this moment.

Despite all this chaos, my daughter will be a silky rose,

I don’t care if my in-laws tell me that I am a rodent.

I want my daughter to glow everyday as she grows.

Passive-aggressive comments, I turn the other way,

but don’t turn my daughter’s eyes into clouds that cry,

if my daughter feels the need to simply stay away,

then that is something that you respect and not deny.

Criticized for letting my daughter eat independently,

but they think it’s okay for her to eat gummy bears.

In-laws judging that my one year old walks unsteadily.

Instead of gummy bears, she can have teddy bears

My daughter’s dark brownie eyes shine while she’s with me.

My daughter floats delightfully, a beautiful rose is all that I see.

    Excellent work

  • Sometimes people can just be so weird, dumb and yet judgemental. I'm so glad you're strong to protect your daughter!
