I once imagined you
Cherished and sheltered me
With your golden light of
Maternity
My distant Mother Moon
πππππ
You looked on wide-eyed
Reticent in the face of my reality
I howled for mercy
Labeled wild and unruly
My broken hymn
The cries of the despised
Rang out night after night
Falling on deafened skies
πππππ
I chafe to think how
I looked up to your
Eternal scrutinizing glow
Only now I realize
Your mute disapproving
Glowers through the
Gloaming of childhood horrors
Are all I've ever known
πππππ
Even now, I sit in mourning
At the atrocities
Tacitly witnessed
The tears and blood gone
Unavenged
My shattered world
A life lived in
Full eclipse

With the moon as my ruling celestial body (Cancerian), this poem was immediately loved after reading the title. Truly creative and crafted to a high standard in my VERY biased BUT valid opinion though π Write Vibes your way K.B.!
