My darkness lifted when I saw your light

Shining for all to see

Yet I circled your lone, exclusive lantern

Meant for anyone but me

.

Like a moth to a flame I circled your light

As my very reason to be

But raisons d'être are overrated

Existentially

.

Now I've become loathe to light

On your luminosity

You've turned it off, to dark from bright

To say no one's home for me

.

I'll return one night to your rekindled light

To see who was burned for thee

But I have lived another day

And reached validity
