A Poem

Crisp air.

Clear skies.

Dried leaves floating in the breeze.

I step outside, my breath visible.

The sun shines brightly on the ground, almost blinding me.

Is it covered with glitter?

I kneel and take a closer look.

No, it’ s frost coating each blade of the grass.

The first frost of the season.

So, the transition to winter has finally come.

I knew it was coming, and now it’s here.

I go back inside and grab a few winter essentials.

I wrap my scarf around my neck, preparing for what nature might throw at me.
