Is this what’s called insanity
Or am I just a lonely soul
A preference for profanity
To make myself resemble coal

In excess and extremity
I pour and over-pour, it’s true
And I don’t see a remedy
For how I’m poring over you

‘Cause I have tried to lose my mind
Just to erase you from my brain
But in the end I always find
That I held on throughout the pain

And if I did choose this to end
I’d want to say that I saw you
