Moonlit Silence
Silent walks on moonlit beaches,
where the restless waters sigh,
midnight drapes the world in shadows,
silver secrets slipping by.
Footsteps vanish, waves erase them,
memories carved in shifting sand,
whispers curl like ghostly fingers,
beckoning with pale, cold hands.
Salt-stained air and distant echoes,
haunted by the ebbing tide,
silent vows in moonlit stillness,
lost where love and longing hide.
The ocean hums a mournful tune,
a lullaby of what once was,
and I am left to drift beneath.
What is and what once was.
Each wave a tear, each breeze a cry,
I feel the weight of all that’s gone,
as silver beams and shadows cling,
forever bound to dusk till dawn.
Beneath the moon, I search for answers,
in the dark where none reside,
for love that lingers in the silence,
and hearts that break with each low tide.
