Moonlight Sonata

If It Had Lyrics

By Jason APublished 5 months ago 1 min read

My poetic attempt to do what I have not seen anyone try before, to my knowledge, set the classical piece "Moonlight Sonata" to lyrics. This is to the first movement only. Here goes:

Upon the ground

The shadows play

In the darkened night

--------

Yes, they dance

Under the moon

Now awakened by

Heart's broken tune

--------

So cold

So deep

And now

No more

--------

My mind

my soul

--------

Now I see

My fate

--------

Oh, let me sing

This sorrowful hymn

--------

I weep

In mind

--------

I weep

In mind

--------

Oh, solemn the moment

I felt the heart fall

Oh, solemn the moment

I felt my soul bend

--------

Upon the ground

The shadows play

In the darkened night

--------

Yes, they dance

Under the moon

--------

I see black before me

I see gray before me

--------

I see now

There is no more

--------

I see now

That time has gone

--------

Let me ache

--------

Alone

Alone
