In the dark of night

You fold into yourself

Your moving surface illuminated

By the circle in the sky

You leave the stars alone

A mirror of mysterious ways

Not apologizing for refusing to give in

To every ray of light projected at you

At night you're left to be

Sea life rests in your blankets

You keep the shore warm

Washing away the prints of yesterday

Taking memories back to tell the moon

In the dark of the night

You fold into yourself

Illuminated by the circle in the sky

I understand

You leave the stars alone.

About the Creator

S.Elizabeth

I love creating the stories, feelings, imagines in my mind in a way that I can also create them in another's. That being said, I mostly write for myself. Please enjoy a usually privately kept space of my cranium. :)
