Ode to a Tree

In a forest deep and old,

Stands a tree so tall and bold.

Its trunk is wide, its branches high,

Its leaves rustle with a gentle sigh.

This tree has seen so many years,

Through storms and droughts and joyous cheers.

It's been a shelter for the birds,

A playground for the squirrels and nerds.

Its roots dig deep into the earth,

Drawing nutrients for its worth.

It stands as a symbol of life,

Through growth and change and strife.

In spring, it dons a cloak of green,

As new leaves burst forth in a scene.

In summer, it provides a shade,

A respite from the sun's hot glade.

In autumn, its leaves turn gold,

A sight to behold, so bold.

In winter, its branches bare,

A stark beauty, without a care.

This tree is more than just a plant,

It's a monument, a living chant.

Of nature's power and beauty,

Of life's enduring duty.

So when you see a tree so tall,

Remember all that it's given us all.

A home for creatures great and small,

A legacy for us to recall.
