Monsters in the Dark

In the stillness of night, a darkness unfurls,

A creeping dread in a world that twirls.

Silence thickens, the air turns cold,

Whispers of fears, both ancient and bold.

Shapes in the shadows, lurking unseen,

A chill wraps around like a cruel, tight seam.

No light to guide, no path to tread,

Just the sound of the heart, filled with dread.

The moon watches closely, its glow fades away,

As night swallows all, turning bright into black.

No comforting tales, no dreams to defend,

Just the weight of reality, no hope to mend.

Beware the silence that echoes so deep,

For in such stillness, the shadows will creep.

Yet so this Halloween, check under your bed,

Stop the monsters before they run ahead.

Once they have vanished, hope again will return,

For it’s all about facing the fears that still churn.

The monsters may linger, just waiting to attack,

But bravely confronting them brings courage back.
