What's Inside?

Where have all the monsters gone?

Those creatures that fill you with crippling fear.

The world is empty of these magical beasts

Our human souls no longer the object of their feasts

The boogie man has left my sight

I am no longer afraid of those that go bump in the night

The aliens no longer abduct us for our thoughts

Leaving us alone and feeling lost

But maybe the wild things are still here

And there's a reason why they have growls that we can't hear

My voice has become the howl in the night

I am the monster in plain sight.
