I lived life monochromatically,
Trying to like girls and live as a boy.
Black and white were the colors made for me,
As I thought that was the way to have joy.
It was a jail that made others happy,
But I was lost in the dark of the void.
It took years to finally see the light
That had shone through a prism of utter truth.
I let go of the life that was my youth,
And stepped into the rainbow that shone bright.
No longer holding on the black and white,
I finally found the colors that soothed
The storm wrought within that left me uncouth.
I knew it was going to be alright.
