Monkey D. Luffy - Gear 6: Wonders of a New Generation!

Anime!

Monkey D. Luffy, the captain and protagonist of the Straw Hat Pirates, never stops surprising people with growth and determination. From Gomu Gomu no Mi to Gear Second, Gear Third, and then most recently, Gear Fourth-this is how he has managed to always answer a new challenge and grow stronger and more determined. And now, when everybody seems to speculate about his potential "Gear 6", the hype has reached a whole new level.

What could Gear 6 have in store?

With every Gear, different releases of Luffy's powers based on rubber have been unleashed: Gear 2 hastened his blood circulation to give him speed, Gear 4 introduced limitless power and flexibility, while Gear 5 let him full-on embrace cartoonish flexibility. Gear 6 could push it further-maybe by mixing Luffy's mastery of Haki with his powers of rubber in entirely new ways. Just imagine Luffy molding his body into more properties of other materials or super resistance towards Devil Fruit attacks, making him an even graver threat on the field.

The Symbolism Behind Gear 6

Luffy's journey to be the Pirate King is about personal development as much as it is about power. Gear 6 would more symbolize his maturity and culminate all those years of training and sacrifice. It would show his evolution as a leader with regard to his undeviating pledge to his crew and dream.

While One Piece's creator, Eiichiro Oda, takes great pains to keep future power-ups close to his chest, Luffy's next transformation will be nothing short of bold and game-changing. With Gear 6, he may finally get just the power needed to face the most daunting foes yet, take another step toward his destiny, and the long-anticipated title of Pirate King.
