Monet Painting

And hunger.

If you were a Monet painting,

I would dip my fingers into your flesh

And tear you open just to see

Your pretty pastel insides.

I would rip open your water lily outsides

To see if you painted your

Beating heart tucked away

Behind those bright white bones

In the same pretty pink hues.

.

If you were a Monet painting,

I'd sink my thumbs into the corners

Of your eyes and pop them out

Just to examine them in spring sunlight.

I would pull out your tongue,

Look at its gloss and taste the shadow

Cloistered behind your teeth.

I want to disturb the surface of you

And gorge myself instead on this impression.

.

If you were a Monet painting,

I'd steal you from the museum

Just to set fire to you in my own backyard

Because beauty is best when it's destroyed,

When it's shifting between fire and ash.

I want to watch the edges of you burn.

So let me reverently touch your oils.

Let me burn you away and swallow your smoke.

A little creepy (A lot of Creepy) but love the admiring of beauty. Very detailed imagery. This will turn into a great scary /Thriller movie. Excellent work.

Very jarring juxtaposition of Monet and his pastel hues with such graphic imagery! Well wrought!

Hellooooo... Editors? Top Story here... what are y'all doing, mates? This is a gem. Great work, Silver. I am literally turned on by the vicious here, hun.

The will to destroy beauty is beautifully represented herein, yet I am curiously devoid of the will to destroy this representation!

  • Gasp!!! I loved that ending to death. Let me burn you away and swallow your smoke. Good Lord it’s fabulous.

Graphic as ever and unapologetic. I loved it!!! I also like the quick change of tone in this line: -I'd sink my thumbs into the corners of your eyes and pop them out Just to examine them in spring sunlight.- For me, it went from tortuous to somewhat of an innocent curiosity in a pleasant setting. Great work, Silver!

Well, well. I had a strange reaction to this one. The part about the eyes made me laugh like a psychopath at first, and then kinda grossed me out, then I felt the passion of the moment. Am I even making sense? Excellent piece, as ever.

"Show me the Monet!" Great stuff as always, and who doesn't love a bit of artful eye-gouging..? Can I add my effort to the oeuvre? 😏 https://shopping-feedback.today/horror/awake-in-the-dark%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">

The Art-Loving Serial Killer. Sounds like a Netflix series. You've suitably creeped me out whilst also providing a wonderful lyrical excursion into Monet's paintings. I mean, there's intimacy here but leave the eyes alone, okay?

Ay carumba, this is oddly very sensual, with all that desecration and intense analysis of the person if they were a painting. Love that you chose Monet too. Just so much going on in this one. Love it. And that final stanza is the cherry on a well constructed and emotive poetic cake. That makes sense, I am sure. Well done, Silver!
