Monday Struggle

It's Monday and I want to stay in bed.

I procrastinate

getting out of bed

because I appreciate

the warmth from my toes to my head

***

Makes me want to work from home

but there's a risk it won't get done

I've got a touch of Monday syndrome

and the day's barely begun

***

My dog stares at me

with eyes so brown

"my bowl is empty, can't you see,

please turn this frown upside down."

***

So I get up and try to spark some motivation

because bills don't get paid unless you work

now I await the evening with anticipation

the bed's warmth and my Kindle, oh what a perk
